A long track leads directly to the house. On arrival you are welcomed with a fantastic view of the garden and the scenic hills in the distance. More a way of life than a holiday home, this unique stay offers a wealth of outdoor activities and add-on experiences. Aimed at families who like to get out into the fresh air, it's a fabulous country house in an idyllic rural setting. Right on the River Avon, it's the perfect spot for wild swimming with a rope swing and river plunge pool in the garden.
Set in its own pretty grounds, the rustic farmhouse can trace its roots back to the 12th century and has plenty of character. Stone floors, oak beams and fireplaces are topped off with comfy furnishings and a lived-in, home from home feel. We love the living room with its exposed stone wall and cosy sofas around the fire. Bedrooms are all of a good size and even the bathrooms are stylish.
Ideal for a large family group, you can cook meals in the country kitchen and serve them at the huge dining table, or barbecue outside on the Argentinian grill on warmer evenings. If the lure of the water has called you here, you can spend days playing in the river, or hop into the twelve-man hot tub. Head off for walks nearby or just let the kids bounce on the trampoline while you sit back with a cold beer on the sun loungers.
Upon entry to the house, Yeo Farm’s stoned arched porch allows for covered seating to remove wellies before the grand wooden door opens up into the entrance hall.
To the right, up a single step, the lounge emerges. This spacious family area maintains original exposed stone walls and ceiling beams. A perfect space for those cooler nights, to connect to the WiFi, snuggle up beside the enormous inglenook log burner with films playing on the widescreen TV and alpaca throws allowing you to embrace your cosy comforts.
Back into the entrance hall, to the left, the spacious antique style décor dining room is found. Featuring the majestic original inglenook fireplace, a wall-spanned bookshelf, original exposed ceiling beams and the grand family size dining table; this room truly presents that olde-worlde country cottage feel, perfect for hosting extravagant dinner parties.
The dining room leads into the kitchen. Large wide windows and an L-shaped kitchen design with a breakfast table and Aga complete the layout of this area. Plenty of preparation counters with splash back mosaic allow for all the family to get involved when cooking. The spacious kitchen caters for many chefs without spoiling the broth. The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances including a dishwasher, toaster, kettle, fridge freezer, microwave, gas top hob, built-in electric oven, crockery and cutlery.
An additional door leads from the kitchen back into the entrance hall where the utility room is offset and set up for outdoor adventurists to come indoors and dry soggy dogs and wellies, plus dirty clothing can be put straight into the washing machine.
Across from the utility, you will find a handy ground floor bedroom which is fitted with a comfy king size bed and clothing storage space.
Up the stairs, the walls are decorated with country style art and stage head mounts. At the top, the sizeable landing leads you to the rest of the accommodation and bathrooms. The master bedroom, also known as the ‘Butterfly’ bedroom is a superior bright and light space, decorated with an antique vanity dresser and wardrobe, super king sleigh bed and a gorgeous en-suite bathroom. The rustic en-suite includes a bath, toilet, basin and towel heater. A Monstera plant in the bathroom is a great addition aiding air purification and humidity uptake.
The third bedroom found along the landing with a stunning Bird themed design. The super comfy four-poster super king size bed is complemented with a lovely window seating overlooking the garden. The hand painted art combined with the antique furniture and storage space makes this room a unique space to stay in.
Next is the family room. This bright and light room offers an antique cast iron king size bed and small single, preferable for parents with a young child. This room has great character from the exposed wooden beams and inglenook shelves, to the bedside tables and a gorgeous antique wardrobe that offers great storage space.
Adjacent to the family room, the gorgeous wall to floor-tiled bathroom is found. This spacious bathroom includes a fantastic wooden soak bath; with a wood counter basin, toilet and air purifying plants for a dash of contrasted colour.
Further along the landing, the ‘Dartmouth’ bedroom is found. This room boasts a king size plenty of storage and a bright cosy feel.
The final bedroom is a bright and fun twin single. This room is perfect for the kids with a boat theme, mahogany draw space and a wicker-reading chair, perfect for bedtime stories.
You will also find a second large shower room on this floor. This shower room is exquisite, decorated with white tile walls, and mosaic flooring, this shower room boasts a massive walk-in shower with waterfall and handheld shower head units. There is also a toilet, basin, towel heater and lovely wooden clothing shelf, doubling up as a seat.
