Situated on the South West Coastal Footpath, The Downs stands magnificently in an elevated position with far reaching views out to sea, across to Burgh Island and Thurlestone Rock.


10 The Downs is set in 4 acres of garden and is a ground floor apartment to the side of the main building which benefits from its own access through a small courtyard. The large windows make the apartment bright and airy and give lovely views across the front garden, you can just get a glimpse of the sea over the dry stoned wall from the bedroom window!

You enter the apartment from the courtyard with a small step up into the hallway, the apartment benefits from being on the ground floor and all on one level. The spacious hallway with plenty of hanging space for coats and a rack for shoes and wellies leads through to the open plan living area and kitchen. Two 2-seater sofas provide ample seating for 4, where you are able to enjoy the glowing electric fire and read a book or while the evening away in front of the smart tv. 2 large windows provide lovely views across the garden and quite often you can watch the pheasants and rabbits saunter past!

Down the hallway are the two bedrooms. First you will find a twin bedroom with 2 x 3ft beds, a side set of drawers and a full chest of drawers. Next door is the spacious main bedroom with a double bed, chest of drawers and a small tallboy wardrobe. Two large windows make this bedroom light and airy.

The bathroom has a toilet, sink and bath with a shower over, the shower being powerful and hot to rejuvenate you after a day on the beach.

There is plenty of parking at The Downs in the designated parking area at the top of the drive.

You are able to access the South West Coastal footpath from the grounds which gives you a wide choice of walks to take. Head out across the golf course and you can turn left and head down to the glorious beaches at Thurlestone and South Milton and onto Hope Cove or turn right, admire the views of Burgh Island and head down to the expansive golden sands of Bantham Beach, the surfing mecca of the south coast of Devon.

The are a variety of places to stop off and grab a coffee, cake or bite to eat on your walk. The well known Beachhouse @ South Milton offers breakfasts, coffees and cake and then for lunch and evenings the freshest of seafood with a great beach vibe atmosphere. Further on the village of Hope Cove offers a variety of pubs, bars and hotels, where you are spoilt for choice.

Bantham Beach hosts the Gastro Buses offering coffee, cakes, ice cream, burgers and pizza. Quite often in the summer you can enjoy an early evening sundowner at the Cider Bus accompanied with some subtle live music. In the village there is The Sloop Inn and Bantham Café boasting an outside deck overlooking the Estuary wildlife.

Further afield you have the local towns of Salcombe, the sailing mecca with its boutique shops, galleries and bistro dining, Kingsbridge a hub of a market town providing the best local produce to make a feast.

There is so much to explore and do in the South Hams area, from walking, surfing, paddleboarding, sailing, National Trust properties and museums and local history.
